Garden of Growth Microschool
Maybe your child doesn’t need to fit into a different school.
Maybe they need a school built differently.
Some children need more support, more flexibility, and more room to grow than a traditional preschool or classroom can provide.
Garden of Growth Microschool is being developed as a small, specialized preschool, Pre-K, and early-learning environment for children who benefit from individualized instruction, smaller groups, behavioral support, and a different approach to learning.
Our goal is simple: create a place where children with unique learning needs can learn, communicate, build relationships, develop independence, and experience success at school.

An intentionally small learning community
​Our founding microschool class is planned for just 3–5 learners, approximately ages 3–6.
Keeping our program intentionally small allows us to adjust instruction, expectations, pacing, communication supports, and the learning environment around the children we serve—rather than expecting every child to adapt to one traditional classroom model.

Garden of Growth may be a good fit for a child who:

becomes overwhelmed in large or busy classrooms;

struggles with transitions, group activities, attention, or classroom routines;

needs additional support communicating wants and needs;

experiences big emotions or challenging behaviors that make traditional preschool difficult;

learns best with repetition, movement, sensory supports, visual supports, or individualized attention;
-
lives with autism, developmental differences, language delays, or other unique learning needs;
-
needs more support than a traditional preschool can reasonably provide; or
-
simply hasn't found the right educational environment yet.

A child does not have to receive ABA therapy to be considered for Garden of Growth Microschool.

Learning Looks Different Here
Our school day is designed to provide the familiar experiences of preschool and early elementary education while allowing much greater flexibility and individualization.
Learners may participate in:

Morning Circle & Group Learning

Songs, stories, communication, calendar concepts, classroom routines, peer interaction, and group participation.

Early Literacy & Mathematics

Developmentally appropriate pre-reading, language, writing, number, pattern, sorting, and early math experiences.

Experience Curriculum
-
Hands-on thematic learning incorporating art, science, literacy, mathematics, music, movement, sensory exploration, and discovery.

Individualized Learning

Children aren't expected to learn the same skill, in the same way, at exactly the same pace.

Communication & Social-Emotional Development

Communication, emotional regulation, independence, friendship skills, problem-solving, waiting, flexibility, and navigating everyday classroom experiences are part of learning too.

Learning Through Play

Outdoor play, sensory exploration, imaginative play, gross-motor activities, art, music, and peer experiences are an important part of our day.

Daily Living & Independence

Meals, toileting, dressing, cleaning up, asking for help, following routines, making choices, and other age-appropriate independence skills can be naturally supported throughout the school day.

Behavior is understood - And Supported
At Garden of Growth, we understand that challenging behavior can communicate something important.
A child may be overwhelmed, frustrated, unable to communicate effectively, struggling with a demand, missing a necessary skill, or having difficulty regulating within their environment.
Our goal isn't simply to make a child "behave like everyone else."
We want to understand why a child is struggling, teach meaningful skills, make appropriate environmental supports, and help the child participate more successfully in school and everyday life.
Garden of Growth is led by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and built by professionals experienced in supporting children with developmental and behavioral needs.

Education + ABA When Medically Necessary
One of the things that makes Garden of Growth unique is our ability to support both education and behavioral healthcare within the same familiar environment.
Some microschool learners may also qualify for medically necessary Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
When appropriate, ABA services may be provided separately through Garden of Growth's clinical ABA program, based on the child's individual clinical needs, assessment, insurance authorization, and treatment plan.
ABA and microschool education are separate services with separate purposes and documentation.
