Job Specific Criteria

RBT

1. **RBT Certification**: The candidate must hold a valid RBT certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). This certification demonstrates proficiency in implementing behavior-analytic interventions under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

2. **Education Requirements**: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Candidates with an associate or bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field are welcome.

3. **Experience**: While prior experience is not always required, candidates with experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is preferred.

4. **Background Check**: Candidates to pass a criminal background check and/or child abuse clearance as part of the hiring process.

5. **Training**: Candidates may be required to complete additional training or coursework in behavior analysis, autism intervention techniques, and related topics.

6. **Communication Skills**: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effectively communicating with clients, families, and other members of the treatment team.

7. **Patience and Empathy**: Working with individuals with developmental disabilities requires patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach.

8. **Reliability and Dependability**: Candidates must be reliable, punctual, and able to adhere to schedules and treatment plans consistently.

9. **Teamwork**: The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including behavior analysts, therapists, and other professionals, is important.

10. **Ethical Conduct**: RBTs must adhere to the professional and ethical standards set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, including maintaining client confidentiality and ensuring the welfare of clients at all times.

11. **Physical Requirements**: Depending on the specific job duties, candidates may need to be able to lift and carry equipment, engage in physical activities with clients, and assist clients with mobility.

12. **Driver's License**: Some positions may require candidates to have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation, particularly if home-based or community-based services are involved.

BCaBA & BCBA

1. **BCaBA Certification**: Candidates must hold a valid Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). This certification demonstrates proficiency in the principles and procedures of behavior analysis.

2. **Education Requirements**: A minimum of a bachelor's degree in psychology, education, applied behavior analysis (ABA), or a related field is typically required. BCBA candidates require a master's degree.

3. **Experience**: Candidates with previous experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is required. (2+ years)

4. **Supervision**: BCaBAs must work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and adhere to the supervision requirements set forth by the BACB.

5. **Ethical Conduct**: BCaBAs and BCBAs must adhere to the professional and ethical standards set forth by the BACB, including maintaining client confidentiality, obtaining informed consent, and ensuring the welfare of clients at all times.

6. **Assessment and Intervention Skills**: Candidates should possess strong assessment and intervention skills, including conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs), developing behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and implementing evidence-based behavioral interventions.

7. **Data Collection and Analysis**: Proficiency in data collection and analysis is essential for monitoring client progress, evaluating the effectiveness of interventions, and making data-driven decisions.

8. **Communication Skills**: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are important for effectively communicating with clients, families, caregivers, and other members of the treatment team.

9. **Collaboration**: The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including behavior analysts, therapists, educators, and other professionals, is essential for success in this role.

10. **Training and Supervision**: BCaBAs and BCBAs may be responsible for providing training and supervision to direct care staff, behavior technicians, and other paraprofessionals working with clients.

11. **Continuing Education**: BCaBAs and BCBAs are required to engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education to maintain their certification and stay current with advancements in the field of applied behavior analysis.

12.**Physical Requirements**: Depending on the specific job duties, candidates may need to be able to lift and carry equipment, engage in physical activities with clients, and assist clients with mobility.
